Data Modeler

As a Data Modeler at the Benefits Service of the Ministry of Finance, you will be responsible for defining business concepts based on legislation and policy execution. Your role will involve creating Conceptual Information Models that enhance the semantics and clarity of business terms. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including legal experts, policymakers, knowledge holders, and fellow data modelers, ensuring the quality and consistency of the models while managing and maintaining them. In addition to your modeling responsibilities, you will develop a training plan to enable others to take on the role of data modeler, actively contribute to raising awareness within the organization about the importance of semantic modeling, and represent the Benefits Service in the ongoing development of the tooling (iKnow) by formulating and prioritizing requirements and wishes. This position is part of the transition towards a data-driven organization as outlined in the 2030 vision of the Benefits Service. Semantic modeling is crucial in achieving a shared and unambiguous understanding of data, leading to better interpretability and reusability of information, improved analysis quality, reduced misunderstandings between teams, and faster, more consistent data-driven decision-making.
