The Ministry of Finance (Tax and Customs Administration) is seeking a Senior PostgreSQL/CNPG Specialist to join their team as a PostgreSQL DevOps Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a PostgreSQL offering within an existing OpenShift environment, utilizing agile methodologies to deliver a highly available, secure, and scalable solution that supports critical applications for development teams. You will also enhance your knowledge to assist users in effectively leveraging PostgreSQL, optimizing performance, and maximizing the use of the PostgreSQL platform. As a key link between development teams and the Data Center Services (DCS) where PostgreSQL is hosted, you will play a crucial role in the integration of business services, ensuring that IT solutions are effectively developed and delivered. The Integration Business Services (IBS) department focuses on providing recognizable IT solutions for the business needs of the Tax and Customs Administration, integrating both generic and specific provisions into fully functional IT solutions. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic engineer to support the department's two Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in establishing and configuring a PostgreSQL environment for various Scrum teams. The Tax and Customs Administration contributes to a financially healthy Netherlands by collecting taxes fairly and diligently. Our mission ensures that there are funds available for essential services such as healthcare, education, and public transport. The IV organization within the Tax and Customs Administration is responsible for ICT provisions, leveraging both internal expertise and external solutions to meet its objectives.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL (5 years)
  • Experience implementing enterprise security aspects, including TDE/TLS, database audit logging, security monitoring, and alerting with CloudNativePostgreSQL (CNPG) architecture and configuration (3 years)
  • Extensive experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies, understanding compliance standards (e.g., Baseline Information Security Government (BIO) or NIS2) (5 years)
  • Certified Safe for Teams or willingness to complete certification at the supplier's expense within a reasonable timeframe

Skills
