Interim CISO

The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) is seeking an Interim Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to fill the role temporarily due to the unexpected absence of the current CISO. This position will require approximately 20-24 hours per week and demands flexibility in scheduling throughout the week due to the nature of information security and associated threats. As the Interim CISO, you will be responsible for developing and updating information security policies, establishing strategic frameworks for information security, managing risks, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, overseeing incident management, and providing strategic advice to top management. You will operate within departmental frameworks and collaborate closely with the central CISO at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK/LVVN). This role is critical for maintaining the integrity of information security within the NVWA until a permanent CISO is appointed. The NVWA plays a vital role in safeguarding public health, animal welfare, food safety, and compliance with environmental legislation.
