Senior Container Hosting Engineer

The Ministry of Finance (Tax and Customs Administration) is seeking a Senior Container Hosting Platform Engineer to join the Container Hosting Platform Enablement Team (CHPET). In this role, you will be instrumental in standardizing, automating, and enhancing the OpenShift container platform with innovative technologies. Your primary responsibility will be to further develop the OpenShift container hosting platform, advocating its capabilities across the organization and assisting teams in onboarding. You will focus not only on the technical aspects but also on fostering a culture conducive to cloud-native application development and management. As a senior engineer, you will work within the Foundation team, which is responsible for the core of the container hosting platform that supports all development teams in building, maintaining, and running their applications. This position plays a vital role in the transition towards a modern application landscape for the Tax and Customs Administration, utilizing a container platform based on OpenShift. The current setup is on-premise, with future plans to transition to a public cloud architecture. The platform is already operational, and the CHPET is dedicated to expanding its capabilities and onboarding new teams. The Tax and Customs Administration contributes to a financially healthy Netherlands by ensuring fair and careful tax collection. This mission supports essential services such as healthcare, education, and public transportation. The IT organization within the Tax and Customs Administration is responsible for providing ICT solutions, leveraging both internal expertise and external market solutions.
