Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Medior Container Engineer to join the PIT team within the Platform teams of Interactie Online at the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst). This team is responsible for hosting, developing, and maintaining a standardized platform that supports the creation of intranet and internet sites, ensuring compliance with both internal and external quality standards. In this role, you will further develop and manage our product portfolio and the necessary enablers on our container platform, leveraging your deep knowledge of Kubernetes technologies, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing our products on OpenShift clusters to meet high availability, scalability, and security requirements. You will manage and monitor OpenShift clusters and Kubernetes namespaces, including performing upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for the automated deployment of our products, while supporting teams in creating their own CI/CD pipelines for application deployment. This position is part of a broader initiative to support the migration of IPAS within the Solution KIV framework. The Belastingdienst plays a crucial role in maintaining a financially healthy Netherlands by ensuring fair and careful tax collection. Our vision and mission guide us in adapting to a constantly changing society, and the IV organization is responsible for providing ICT services, utilizing both internal expertise and external solutions.

Requirements

  • HBO work and thinking level
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and network protocols
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes
  • OCA and OCP or comparable certifications
  • At least 3 years of experience with container orchestration platforms, preferably OpenShift
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and related containerization technologies
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Ansible, GO, Bash, or Python
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Tekton, GITOPS (ARGOCD), etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in an Agile environment
  • Willingness to participate in on-call availability in the future
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana
  • Familiarity with key tools: Istio, Helm, Tekton, Argo
  • Experience with a Web Content Management System
