Business Analyst

The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (NVWA) is seeking a Business Analyst to execute comprehensive business information analyses within the 'More Impact with Data' program. This initiative aims to enhance the societal impact of NVWA's oversight by transitioning to data-driven operations. You will map the current information landscape across various oversight domains, identifying available data, its current utilization in primary oversight processes, ongoing initiatives, gaps, and areas that require the most attention to achieve our ambitions. In this role, you will engage with subject matter experts, information managers, and data specialists to gather and analyze information needs. You will assess the current state of data sources, information products (such as dashboards, reports, and risk analyses), data flows, and data quality. Based on your findings, you will create an overview document and prioritization advice to guide further investments in data-driven practices. You will collaborate with experts from various departments within NVWA, delivering process and information analyses, identifying gaps and overlaps, and advising on opportunities for improving oversight effectiveness through data-driven enhancements. The NVWA is undergoing a significant shift towards data-driven oversight, with the 'More Impact with Data' program running from 2026 to 2031. Currently, there is a lack of a unified understanding of the information status across oversight domains, with knowledge fragmented across different directorates. A structured inventory and analysis are required to create this insight, which will inform decision-making regarding the program's future direction.
