Senior Java Developer

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team at DUO Groningen, the executive agency for education in the Netherlands. In this role, you will contribute to the ongoing development and modernization of our applications, specifically focusing on the Registration of Educational Participants in Secondary Education. You will be involved in both the architecture and implementation of new functionalities, optimizing existing systems to ensure they are future-proof. Our applications are built using Java and Spring Boot, with Kubernetes and Docker playing a central role in our development process. You will work on architectural improvements aimed at creating a more flexible and scalable application landscape, emphasizing modularity and clear separation of responsibilities. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are key components of our team culture, where we utilize a shared backlog and sprint planning, and communicate effectively through Teams. As part of a relatively young and dynamic team, you will engage in various projects, including a significant initiative to modernize all our applications. You will also have the opportunity to work with PostgreSQL and DB2, and contribute to the optimization of our CI/CD pipelines. Your experience with Angular will be an asset, enhancing our front-end capabilities as we strive for excellence in both front-end and back-end development.
