Information Security Advisor

The Information Security Advisor will play a crucial role within the IT department of the Ministry of Defence, specifically in the Joint Information Provisioning Command (JIVC). The JIVC is responsible for the development and maintenance of IT services, including personnel systems, logistics and financial systems, networks, transmission systems, and training simulators used by the armed forces, including the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMAR). In this position, the advisor will work independently within the IBEV department of the JIVC, focusing on assignments linked to the KMAR organization. The advisor will support and advise IT service owners and project managers throughout the accreditation process, particularly for complex and classified IT services. Responsibilities include conducting VIR E&E analyses to determine the reliability and classification levels of IT services, making risk assessments in accordance with the comply or explain principle for the Statement of Compliance (SoC), and facilitating internal audits to assess information security. The advisor will also provide recommendations on information security within various projects and assignments, acting as a liaison between business and technical teams. This role requires managing multiple assignments simultaneously, necessitating a flexible and customer-oriented approach, as well as effective expectation and time management.
